Community Connections facilitates Internet access to community-based programs and services through partnerships with
communities, federal, provincial and municipal governments, the not-for-profit and private sectors.
With the combined efforts of community groups, social agencies, libraries, schools, volunteer groups and the business community, Community Connections helps Manitobans, wherever they live,
take advantage of emerging opportunities in the global economy.
There are now over 600 Public Access Sites at public locations like schools, libraries and community centres which act as “on-ramps” to the Information Highway. Through Community Connections, additional activities, such as computer training and youth development, are supported in the local community to encourage public use of the Internet.
Through an agreement with Industry Canada, Community Connections manages the Communty Access Program (CAP) in Manitoba. For more information about CAP visit Industry Canada's CAP website.
